Trial Key to buy campaign skills?
This occured to me this morning. I don't have Factions, but obviously some of the skills are quite useful.
Now, with the new store update, I can buy an unlock pack for each campaign. But obviously not Factions, as I do not own it.
When I did the GW:EN preview, I got all the Ritualist skills I could get at Shing Jea Monastery and surrounding quests, and sure enough, my Rit heroes can use the skills, even though they're still locked to me.
Now I still have a trial key from my Nightfall Collectors edition, and I was originally going to use it and farm Balthazar faction for 10 hours to unlock all the useful skills I could. But I'm willing to spend the £3 to unlock them, but I don't know whether having the trial key activated will fool the system into letting me buy it.
Can anyone shed any light on my crackpot scheme? Will it work?

So, you are saying that if you manage to unlock skills during trial/preview of campaign, they stay available to your heroes even thou your character cannot use them?
Sounds more like a bug that will be corrected thanks to your input...

No it's not a bug, as Razah comes with Factions skills when you get him anyway. There's a symbol that shows them to be 'locked' when you're in the skill list, i.e., a padlock over the skill.

He does indeed, along with a rez sig, Wielder's Strike and Wielder's Boon, the latter being a Factions skill.

Does it give you an error when you try to buy the skill unlocks for campaigns you don't own? Or could you buy the skillpack, then activate the trial key, unlocking the skills for the account?

There's just no option to buy it, something about needing to have PvP unlocked I believe

If it was something that simple then you would have grounds to call me a n00b. But yes, I have been to the Battle Isles on numerous occasions.
It allows me to be buy skills for Core, Prophecies, Nightfall and GW:EN, as I have both those campaigns and the expansion.
On all those four, the 'Add to Cart' button can be pressed, and it gives me a price. On the Factions one, instead of a price it says 'Requires PvP Access' and the 'Add to Cart' button is greyed out.
There is the PvP access kit, which looks like it would allow me to unlock said skills. But if the Trial Key would 'fool' it into letting me buy it, then I would prefer to do that.

Well, find a time when you are willing to 'farm Balthazar faction for 10 hours,' enter the key, and then try to buy the Skillpack. If it works, great; if not, you have the time already planned out to farm the faction to buy the skills. Or, you could just test it, and if it doesn't work, simply buy the PvP Access Kit and skip the faction farm altogether. Either way, post your findings here.
And BTW, I didn't mean to insinuate that you were a n00b, that was simply the only way I could think of 'Unlocking PvP.'

And yeah, that was my plan if I wasn't able to get an answer. Thanks =)
